Cork should have had a free in the closing stages of their recent Allianz Division 2 final defeat to Meath advanced 50 metres, referees and rules administrators have agreed.
At a pre-championship referees’ seminar last weekend, an incident late in the game, where the Meath forward James Conlon deliberately pulled down Cork defender Maurice Shanley in the Cork half of the field with seconds on the clock remining before the hooter sounded to conclude, was discussed.
