Almost €6,000 worth of cosmetics, vitamins, and hair-loss products were allegedly stolen in three shoplifting incidents at pharmacies in Cork by the same 49-year-old man.
He allegedly stole €2,869 worth of cosmetics and health supplements from Sam McCauley pharmacy in Blackpool Shopping Centre.
Forty boxes of vitamin tablets and several bottles of hair-loss products, with a total value of €1,920, were allegedly stolen by him at Boots Pharmacy in Mahon Point shopping centre.
Elvis Dulea, of Mirea Mioara Luiza Nr, Bucresti, Romania, appeared at Cork District Court on this and four other counts of shoplifting between August 2025 and March this year.
He is charged with going to another Boots pharmacy — at Half Moon St in the city centre — and stealing €1,100 worth of cosmetics.
The same man is charged with stealing over €1,500 worth of clothing from Premier Building Solutions on Pouladuff Rd.
The last two shoplifting charges relate to €300 worth of property at JD Sports on Patrick St and one more count related to Sam McCauley pharmacy where the alleged theft was of nine tubes of Lash mascaras and five bottles of vitamins valued €320.
On the application of Sergeant John Kelleher, Judge Mary Dorgan remanded Elvis Dulea in custody until April 21 to allow time for directions to be obtained from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
