Eve Hewson and Channing Tatum are to star in Isle of Man, a new film centred on the iconic motorcycle time-trial race, the Isle of Man TT.

The film is directed and co-written by Reid Carolin, who previously directed Tatum in the film Dog and also wrote the screenplays for Tatum’s Magic Mike franchise.

Tatum and Carolin’s production company, Free Association, is among the producers on Isle of Man alongside F1: The Movie star Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B.

US entertainment trade publication Deadline, which first reported Hewson and Tatum’s casting, said: “Long before Formula 1, World Endurance, and MotoGP, there was the Isle of Man TT.

“As the world’s oldest continuously running motorsport event, the TT remains a one-of-a-kind spectacle with no substitute and no equal.

“With riders pushing man and machine to the edge at nearly 200 mph, the TT represents the pinnacle of sporting endeavour and the relentless pursuit of glory.”

Tatum and Carolin’s company is also among the producers on “a corresponding docuseries that was filmed during last year’s TT Races with never-before-seen access to the riders and the races due to an exclusive partnership between the producers and the event promoters”.

Hewson will next be seen in cinemas in Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi thriller Disclosure Day.
