After the success of last year’s Superman, DC enthusiasts are clamoring for more from the Man of Steel before his next cinematic outing, and HBO intends to deliver.

Featuring Jack Quaid as the voice of the titular hero, My Adventures with Superman debuted in 2023. The series offers a modern approach to the iconic character while also focusing heavily on Clark Kent’s fellow reporters Jimmy Olsen and Lois Lane. The rest of the voice cast includes Alice Lee, Ishmel Sahid, Max Mittelman, Darrell Brown, and Michael Emerson, among others.

With a 100% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, My Adventures with Superman received nearly universal acclaim. Though its second season debuted in 2024, and it was renewed for a third shortly thereafter, the series has not released any new episodes in nearly two years.

However, Quaid recently offered a glimmer of hope for audiences eagerly awaiting more of Superman. In an interview with Collider, the actor stated: “First of all, I can tease that it is coming out. I know fans have been really patiently waiting, but it is coming out.”

As for how far along in the process the show is, Quaid revealed that he is still recording his lines for the series. “I’ve seen bits and pieces of it,” he continued. “It’s probably our funniest season, but also there’s so many different– giant stakes come into it as well. I’m really excited for fans to check that out.”

Quaid then praised the support My Adventures with Superman has received from fans, thanking those who made fan art and cosplayed as these iterations of the DC characters. “What I can tease about it is: I think it’s maybe my favorite season of the show,” he continued, wanting to give audiences more to look forward to. “We do some episodes that are kind of standalone, their own thing, and that are really, really exciting. I don’t want to spoil it too much […] It’s always been a funny, lighthearted show, but some of the writing is truly, truly wonderful.”

Notably, My Adventures with Superman being in post-production places its release window as late 2026 to early 2027. As a result, there is a solid chance it may release prior to the sequel to Superman, James Gunn’s Man of Tomorrow, slated for a July 2027 debut. Quaid addressed the current live-action DC Universe, praising Gunn’s direction: “As a person who is vocally Superman, I cannot tell you how much I loved the current Superman movie.” He continued by singling out star David Corenswet’s performance:

“He just absolutely crushed it. And it’s that inherent goodness of Superman — the dorkiness that doesn’t matter because it’s out of fashion. But that’s the point. He captured all of that, and I just thought everyone knocked it out of the park. I actively cried watching that movie. It was, you know, ‘hopecore,’ as they say, but I just I loved it. It was so great.”

Quaid likened that portrayal to his own, stating “Superman is just altruistic and good and morally right.” At the end of the day, the hero is “all about saving cats [from] trees and being a dork,” per the actor.

Though the release date for My Adventures with Superman season three has yet to be revealed, the hit series is now in post-production, meaning Lois, Jimmy, and Clark will be back on the small screen very soon.
