Addison Rae came under fire from fans as she made her Coachella debut.
The TikTok star turned performer took to the stage on Saturday, April 11, to showcase a string of her songs for her fans, dressed in a burlesque-style stage outfit that saw her strip down to a red sparkling bra and knickers. While she put on an eye-catching Coachella show however, Addison, 25, failed to impress those watching with her vocal ability.
The singer came under intense scrutiny from viewers who found her on-stage extravaganza fell short, with many also accusing her of “impersonating” Britney Spears. Fans took to X to share clips of her on stage and discuss her singing skills.

One unimpressed viewer wrote, “Can’t carry a tune worth a damn oh Tonedeafison.” A second said, “Who let this slop onto the stage. We already had that gimmicky Sabrina yesterday. We don’t need another talentless individual hiding behind costumes and visuals like Sabrina.”
A third commented, “I will NEVER understand the lore with this talentless hack. She cannot sing a note.” A fourth social media user shared, “Uncomfortable truth: Her music is awful and her stage presence is heavily lacking. we need to stop believing that she’s an artist and that her music is good.”

Addison took to the stage after Friday headliner Sabrina Carpenter spoke out after a moment from her Coachella 2026 performance sparked backlash online.
The singer issued an apology after mistaking an audience member’s celebratory call for “yodeling” during an exchange that quickly went viral. The incident took place Friday night as Carpenter delivered a high-energy, Old Hollywood inspired set on the California festival’s main stage.

After performing her hit single Please Please Please, Carpenter paused at her keyboard to prepare for the next song. As the applause began to settle, one fan could still be heard calling out from the crowd. “I think I heard someone yodel,” Carpenter said, prompting the fan to repeat the sound. “Is that what you’re doing?” she added. “I don’t like it.”
The fan responded directly, saying, “It’s my culture.” Carpenter then replied, “That’s your culture, is yodeling?” The fan attempted to clarify, shouting back, “It’s a call of celebration.”
Carpenter did not acknowledge the explanation in the moment and instead said, “Is this Burning Man? What’s going on? This is weird.” Clips of the exchange quickly spread across X, where users identified the sound as zaghrouta, a traditional vocal expression of joy commonly heard at Arabic celebrations, including weddings and parties.

After learning more about the moment and the reaction online, Carpenter addressed the situation publicly the following day. Taking to X on Saturday afternoon, she issued a brief apology.
“My apologies,” she wrote. “I didn’t see this person with my eyes and couldn’t hear clearly. My reaction was pure confusion, sarcasm, and not ill-intended. Could have handled it better!” She added, “Now I know what a zaghrouta is! I welcome all cheers and yodels from here on out.”
