The family of Scarlett Faulkner has issued a renewed and deeply heartfelt appeal for prayers as they anxiously await the results of a final medical assessment into her condition.
The 29-year-old mum-of-one from Limerick, has been on life-support at Cork University Hospital for the past three weeks after she suffered catastrophic injuries in a brutal roadside attack on the R494 near Birdhill on March 21.
She received devastating head injuries from the attack that happened on a busy road on Saturday evening, March 21.
A woman and a 16-year-old girl, who have been charged in connection with the serious assault of Scarlett, aged 29, in Birdhill.
Earlier, Scarlett’s heartbroken sister-in-law, Josephine Duffy revealed switching off the life-support machine has been delayed as medics and the family anxiously await the outcome of the final assessment.
Josephine said they expect the results either on Sunday or Monday.

Now, in a message shared over the weekend on Scarlett’s Army social media page, loved ones have once again asked the public to remember Scarlett in their prayers and to pray for strength and guidance for her family during what they described as a deeply traumatic time.
“We kindly ask everyone to remember Scarlett Faulkner in their prayers this weekend,” the message read.
“May she be surrounded by God’s healing grace, strength, and peace, along with her family and loved ones. Lord Jesus, love and protect this beautiful young woman, we pray.

“Lord Jesus, guide over Scarlett on this holy day and give her beloved family your grace and guidance to cope with the pain and trauma that this world is visiting on them,” the message continued, as they ask people to ‘light up Facebook pink for Scarlett Faulkner.’
Family members have been sharing regular updates on social media, thanking the public for their support and continuing to ask for prayers for her recovery.
Scarlett, a respected member of a Traveller family from Limerick county, was brutally beaten by a group armed with weapons at the side of the R494 in Birdhill. The motive for the savage assault remains unclear.
Ms Faulkner continues to fight for her life in hospital following the horrific assault. She was found by emergency services with catastrophic head injuries on the side of the road.
She is believed to have been attacked by one or more people armed with weapons, around 5.30pm on Saturday.
Gardai are working on several theories regarding the assault, including that innocent Ms Faulkner may have been travelling in a car that was rammed by a group in another vehicle, dragged from her car, and attacked with implements at the side of the road.
Detectives at Nenagh Garda Station are continuing to investigate the attack.
