There were horrific scenes at the end of Monday’s Coronation Street, as Todd Grimshaw was left injured and bleeding after a vile assault.
Todd has faced abuse at the hands of his evil partner Theo Silverton for months, physically and verbally abused, as well as being manipulated, controlled and isolated. Theo has hurt Todd previously, but his attack on Monday was the worst yet.
Todd staggered to safety at his friend Sarah Platt’s flat, after pretending earlier on that he and Theo had already left for Ireland. As Sarah realised Todd was outside, she quickly figured out something was very wrong.
His breath was laboured and he didn’t sound good, telling Sarah he couldn’t get up to the flat. Sarah panicked and fled outside onto the street, where she found Todd injured by the door.

Her partner Kit Green, a detective, called for help with Sarah desperate to get him to a hospital. He was clearly in a bad way and bleeding, with blood all over his head and face.
But a defiant Todd vowed enough was enough, and in that moment he refused to go to the hospital. Instead, he demanded Sarah and Kit get him to the police station so that he could finally report his abuse, and end Theo’s reign of terror.
Viewers were left reeling over the horrifying attack on Todd, which was not shown onscreen. The blood alone left little to the imagination in regards to how violent Theo had been towards Todd.
But will Todd be okay, and what happens next? Spoilers for the rest of this week have revealed what Todd does as he stands up to his abusive partner.

On Wednesday, as there is no episode on Tuesday, we will see a special, one strand episode focusing on the domestic abuse storyline. Todd reports Theo for assault at the police station, and also shares his ordeal for the first time.
Previously, Todd has only opened up to Billy Mayhew, who was later left to die by Theo in the Corriedale crash. Now, Todd will share his harrowing ordeal with Kit and fellow detective Lisa Swain.
As they listen, he shares what has gone on over recent months, concluding with Theo’s latest, brutal assault on him. Back on the cobbles, and Theo knows he’s gone too far, as if he hadn’t already.
