Pregnant women who took a vaccine to protect against a serious respiratory virus reduced the risk of hospitalisation in their babies by more than 80pc, according to a new study.

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common virus that can cause severe respiratory illness in infants and young children, including lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs) such as bronchiolitis and pneumonia.
