Dublin referee Ian Howley called off the Westmeath v Kildare Leinster U-20 football championship quarter-final at half-time in very poor weather conditions in Kinnegad after inspecting the pitch with both managers.
There were only two scores from play in the entire half, which went on for almost 38 minutes due to Kildare’s TJ Nolan needing lengthy treatment for an injury approaching the interval.
