Diabetes is one of the most prevalent chronic conditions worldwide, affecting one person in 10.
National charity Diabetes Ireland estimates that around 309,000 people in Ireland live with diabetes. Of those, 87.7pc have Type 2, and 10.7pc have Type 1.
