An emotional story - Film about Mayo club's All-Ireland win to be launched

Some might say it’s the biggest achievement in Mayo sport. In 2001, Crossmolina Deel Rovers won the All-Ireland Championship, as the first Mayo club ever.

Now, 25 years later, it’s time to tell their full story.

The upcoming Mayo News documentary ‘For Our Club’ charts the story from a small rural community, a bunch of young lads, growing up together, who finally conquered Ireland.

In our latest Pitchside special, our Head of Sport Michael Gallagher, talks to our digital editor David Rischke, who has created the film.

The movie ‘For Our Club’ will go live on www.mayonews.ie on Friday, April 17, at 5pm.
