Carlow’s Scoil Mhuire gan Smál is among the four primary schools to have qualified for the Leinster Final of this year’s Ireland’s Fittest School competition.
The competition, which is now in its fifth year, is promoting the importance of exercise, fitness and healthy eating amongst young people.
The Leinster final will be held at the SCD Leisure Centre in Tallaght in mid-May, after which the top school from each province will progress to the Grand Final and Athlone on May 20th.
There, the prize package will include €8,000 euro worth of sports equipment and the title of Ireland’s Fittest School in 2026.
