In the end it may have been a stroll in the Carlow sun for Louth as they saw off Wexford with ease but only after an indifferent start, when Wexford took the game to the Leinster champions at Network Cullen Park to lead 0-3 to 0-0 after six minutes.
However, once Louth, who hadn’t played a competitive game for four weeks, settled into the match and took the lead for the first time after 21 minutes, there was only going to be one outcome.
