A pub in County Leitrim has made the ‘difficult decision’ to stop serving food due to the rising cost of living and operational costs.

Gurns Bar at Main Street, Manorhamilton has been a popular venue for bar food and hosting special occasions for the past 40 years.

However, management has confirmed it is no longer viable to continue serving food due to the rising cost of living and operating the food side of the business.

The pub will remain open as usual.

A spokesperson for the pub said it was a very difficult decision to make and thanked the loyal customers and staff for their support over the years.

“After more than 40 years of serving food to our community since 1983, we wish to let our customers know that kitchen has now closed.

“Increasing operating costs and the ongoing cost of living pressures have made it no longer viable for us to continue providing food service.

“We are very proud of all the food we have served over the years.

“From everyday meals to family occasions and special events, it has been a privilege to serve so many people, families and generations in our community.

We would like to sincerely thank all of our staff, past and present, for their hard work, care and commitment over the years.

“Their contribution has been greatly valued.

“The pub remains open and we look forward to continuing to welcome our customers and community in the times ahead.”
