An iconic British rock band cancelled a much-anticipated Dublin show this evening due to a ‘medical situation’.

Fans of Enter Shikari had been due to see them at Dublin Academy tonight (April 21) as part of their current tour. But the band took to their social media pages earlier today to say they would not be able to go ahead with the gig.

The band did not go into much detail over the gig’s cancellation. However, they insisted that they will be doing everything they can to reschedule the date for fans.

“Due to a medical situation both unexpected and beyond our control, we’re sad to have to say we’re having to postpone tonight’s Dublin Academy show,” the band said on Instagram.

“If you know anything about us, you know that cancelling/postponing shows is always the absolute last resort once all other options have been exhausted, especially at this short notice. We’re very sorry for any inconvenience this causes anyone.”

They added: “We’re in conversation with our Irish promoter and will immediately start looking at potential date to reschedule to. Thank you in advance for your understanding, and we hope we can see you as soon as possible.”

Enter Shikari have been around since they first formed in 1999. Their current tour is in support of their latest album Lose Your Self, which was released on April 10, in a surprise to fans.
