After years of being able to dodge their legal responsibilities, the Companies Registration Office (CRO) has pledged to begin prosecuting companies and directors from later this year for failing to file their annual returns on time.

Liquidators who fail to make timely filings as part of their obligations when winding-up firms are also now in the crosshairs of the authority.
