A Dublin-born doctor who is based in the US has received a top award at the “Oscars of science” for a groundbreaking discovery that transformed global understanding of a devastating brain disease.
Bryan Traynor, who grew up in Mount Merrion and graduated from UCD, is now a senior investigator at the US National Institute on Ageing, part of the National Institutes of Health in Maryland.
