Two gardai have been injured following an incident in Letterkenny yesterday afternoon.
Gardaà received a call to attend a premises on Neil T. Blaney Road at approximately 3pm.
Two Gardaà attended the scene and were assaulted by a male aged in his 30s.
Gardaà arrested the male and a female, also aged in her 30s.
They were both detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 in a Garda Station in the Donegal Division.
The two Gardaà received treatment in hospital for injuries sustained during the incident but have since been discharged.
An Garda SÃochána say they are providing peer support to the injured GardaÃ.
The male remains in custody at this time while the female has since been released and charged in connection with this investigation.

The accused woman is due to appear before Letterkenny District Court on Monday 11th May 2026.
Gardai say their investigations into the incident are ongoing.
