13:50 Sandown – Organise

A belting card at Sandown and some action at Perth on ITV Racing for Friday starts with the Esher Cup Handicap over 1m. ORGANISE lacks experience for a race like this, but he holds a York Dante entry next month and if he’s anywhere near Group class, he should be able to take this off a mark of 97. Unbeaten in two starts over 7f and 1m, he could be anything. As a son of Night of Thunder who cost 360,000gns. He’s bred to be useful and James Doyle rides for John & Thady Gosden.

If jumping is your thing then here’s the Highland National Handicap Chase over an extended 3m6f. Low grade horses for this type of event. EXPRESS SUNRISE was a fine fourth to Neo King over an extreme trip at Windsor back in January and he hasn’t had many chances over these kind of distances so there might be more to come. He’s up a few pounds to 112 after a victory at Chepstow last time and basically he’s been in good form most of the season for Clive Boultee-Brooks. Ned Fox takes off 3lb.

The Group 3 Gordon Richards Stakes over 1m2f has opened up after Almaqam wasn’t declared. There’s no doubt Almeric has the most potential, but I’ll chance KING OF CITIES on debut for Karl Burke with Ryan Moore on top. The stable is going well, and this colt has always been highly regarded. He finished 9th to Camille Pissarro in the French Derby back in the day, and he actually ran alright, having never been in a good place to challenge. He showed in the Strensall Stakes at York that he’s pretty useful and he might have more to offer with the stable switch from Richard Hannon.

A handicap hurdle over an extended 3m 2f. ROARING CONQUEST hasn’t done much since winning at Windsor in November, but he showed that day he has plenty of ability. Having won off 125 he’s been on 130 for his last few efforts and is only down 1lb here to 129. That all said, I’m sure if he’s in the Windsor form he can easily win off this mark. Will probably go chasing next season but might still have this in him. Sean Bowen rides for Olly Murphy.

A Group 2 for milers. An absolute belter of a race but hard to tip in! ZEUS OLYMPIOS might well have to make the running and that might not be a bad thing for Karl Burke and Clifford Lee. He looks a monster in four runs and should stay right to the line. Last seen at Newmarket in September beating the re-opposing Opera Ballo in the Joel Stakes. He could be anything and a possible star of the season.

15:35 Sandown – Action

Now the Group 3 Classic Trial over 1m2f. Plenty of potential in this field but at this stage something is going to have to be be very good to beat ACTION. The Aidan O’Brien-trained runner was a useful juvenile, finishing third in the Royal Lodge behind Bow Echo and second to Hawk Mountain at Doncaster. On both occasions he kept on well and he has always suggested middle distances will bring out the best in him. Related to Lambourn and you would hope he’s an Epsom Derby contender. Ryan Moore rides.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
