Derry design duo to headline "The Irish Edit" at Ireland Fashion Week 2026 - Ireland News Beep

Two of the North West’s most visionary fashion talents, Aoife Harvey and Bray Zhang, have been selected to represent Derry on the national stage at Ireland Fashion Week (IFW) 2026.

Taking place from October 7–12, this year’s event introduces “The Irish Edit,” an immersive showroom experience at the intersection of heritage craftsmanship and modern innovation. Following an intensive industry “Bootcamp”, Harvey and Zhang have been positioned at the forefront of a new generation of Irish designers blending local tradition with global ambition.

Aoife Harvey (AH Designs), the Claudy-based designer rose to national prominence after winning the BBC’s A Stitch Through Time. Known for her commitment to sustainable fashion and intricate craftsmanship, the independent designer focuses on weaving together storytelling, craftsmanship, and innovation to create timeless, bespoke pieces.

Sharing the news on social media, Aoife Harvey said: “I’ll be showcasing at Ireland Fashion Week 2026. Beyond honoured to be featured in The Irish Edit.

“So much hard work, vision, and passion has gone into what’s coming next. A brand new collection is on the way for AH Designs. This is just the beginning.”

Joining her is Bray Zhang, a Derry/Paris based independent designer who specialises in smart-casual mens and womenswear with a take on strong, traditional silhouettes with a modern twist on attention to details.

Founder of the eponymous label BRAY ZHANG and a graduate of ATU Donegal, Zhang completed a high-profile internship with Gaurav Gupta in Paris. His aesthetic redefines “quiet luxury” through gender-fluid tailoring, uniquely blending traditional Donegal Tweed with Chinese silk.

Ireland Fashion Week 2026 serves as the premier platform for established and emerging designers across the island, attracting international buyers, media, and industry leaders. The inclusion of Harvey and Zhang highlights Derry’s growing reputation as a hub for textile excellence and modern design.

Departing from the traditional fast-paced runway, “The Irish Edit” allows press, buyers, and the public to engage directly with the designers. Each artist will host a curated installation featuring live models, providing an intimate look at the craftsmanship and intricate construction behind their brands.

The inclusion of Harvey and Zhang highlights Derry’s growing reputation as a hub for textile excellence and modern design, attracting international attention to the North West’s creative economy.
