Numerous gardaí are at the scene of a prolonged public order incident in Naas town centre this evening.

It is believed that an incident arose in or around a licenced premises on the town’s main street at around 8.30pm.

At least three garda vehicles were deployed, including a marked van near Naas Courthouse, which was used to transport a person from South Main Street.

A number of gardaí attended the incident

There was a report that a person at the scene was not fully cooperative with the gardaí.

Four gardaí were at the scene originally and they were joined by two others, including a plain clothes officer.

There were some traffic delays as the gardaí dealt with the incident.

It is understood that a proprietor of a licenced premises sustained an injury and some damage was caused to a premises.
