One person has died following a single vehicle crash in Co Tyrone, bringing the total of lives lost on Northern Ireland roads this weekend to three.
Police said the crash took place in the Caledon area on Saturday evening.
PSNI officers received a report of a van crashing on the Derrycourtney Road shortly after 11pm.
Emergency services attended, however one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Derrycourtney Road, which was closed overnight, has since reopened.
One person has been arrested.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police received a report shortly after 11pm on Saturday of a collision involving a van in the Derrycourtney Road area.
“Officers, along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, attended, however, sadly one person was pronounced deceased at the scene.
“One arrest has been made and our enquiries are continuing. We would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have digital footage which could assist with our investigation, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 1706 of 25/04/26.”
Meanwhile, two others have lost their lives as a result of a separate road crash in Co Antrim.
Police received a report shortly before 6pm on Saturday of a collision involving a motorcycle and a car on the Glenavy Road, near Maghaberry.
Emergency services attended the scene; however, the drivers of both vehicles were pronounced deceased at the scene.
