Gardai and the defence forces rushed to the scene of a security alert in Dublin last night.
The incident happened at a car park facility on the North Circular Road near Mountjoy Prison. Emergency services were called to the scene at around 7pm.
The scene was cordoned off by gardai last night. The cordon was eventually lifted and the facility fully reopened to the public.
A garda spokesman said last night: “An Garda Síochána responded to reports of a security alert at a car park facility on the North Circular Road, Dublin 7 at approximately 7pm on Sunday 26th April 2026. A cordon is currently in place and Army EOD have been requested to attend at the scene. No additional information is available at this time.”
Last night, Dublin Fire Brigade said: “Traffic restrictions are in place around the North Circular Road at Royal Canal Bank as Firefighter/Paramedics from Phibsborough attend an incident.”
