'Vicious': Father and son hospitalised in slash hook attack in Limerick - Ireland News Beep

A FATHER and son were hospitalised with injuries following an attack involving a reported slash hook over the weekend, Limerick Live has learned.

The alleged assault took place in the Ballinacurra Weston area of Limerick city around 1pm on Sunday afternoon.

The seriousness of the injuries suffered by the man and teenage boy is not known but it is understood they are not life threatening.

It is thought that a large number of uniform and plainclothes gardai quickly responded to reports of a “disturbance” in the area.

However, all parties had left the scene upon arrival and Limerick Live understands that no formal complaint has been made by the injured parties to An Garda Siochana at this time.

One well-placed source said: “This was vicious stuff in the middle of the day. I don’t know the background to the dispute. Tensions are very high in the area. Somebody is going to be seriously hurt or worse.”
