Jordan’s of Clarinbridge is shutting down after three and a half years in the village as they admitted it “was not an easy choice”.
Owners Norma and Megan announced the closure of the business on Tuesday, April 29 as they paid tribute to their pub, which had become “a place of connection, community and heart.”
The pub has become a beloved fixture in Clarinbridge over the years. In 2023, the business was the Irish Pub Awards’ Regional Winner for Connacht in the ‘Best Local Pub’ category.
The decision to close was not an easy one as owners cited the rising costs that are having a “profound impact” on small businesses such as theirs.
In a post on social media this week, they said: “It is with great heartbreak and sadness that we share the news that we have made the difficult decision to close our doors at Jordan’s.
“After an incredible three and a half years, both of us, Norma and Megan, have decided to step away from Jordan’s. This has not been an easy choice. The continuously rising costs are having a profound impact on small businesses across our beautiful island of Éire every single day, and unfortunately, it has reached a point where it is no longer possible for us to continue with our dream.
“To each and every person who walked through our doors, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your support, laughter, and presence made Jordan’s what it was.
“To the friends we’ve made along the way, we are so grateful you came into our lives, you’ve made this journey truly special. And to the friends we’ve lost along the way, not a day goes by that we don’t miss you.
“We hold close the memories of the laughter, the chats, and the countless special moments shared within these walls.
“Jordan’s was never just a pub. It was a place of connection, community, and heart. It was our home. We will carry those memories with us always.
“With all our love and gratitude, Norma and Megan.”
