Tributes have poured out for Brendan Brosnan, with locals calling him an ‘absolute gentleman.’

Tributes have poured out for a young man who died in a workplace tragedy while operating a mini-digger.
Brendan Brosnan, who was in his 20s, was reportedly operating a mini-digger machine at a derelict property in Athea, Co Limerick, when a wall or chimney collapsed on top of him.
Brendan, who is from Meenoline, Templeglantine, Co. Limerick, was found under rubble and sadly died from his injuries.
The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has since confirmed an investigation into the tragic accident.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the HSA said: “The Health and Safety Authority is aware of the fatal incident and has launched an investigation into the circumstances.
“As such, no further information is available at this time.”
Speaking to Limerick Live, local county councillor Liam Galvin said Brendan was an “absolute gentleman”.
“He was one of the nicest young fellows you could wish to meet on a day’s walk. He was just a funny, funny boy and well-liked around the town.
“He was a hard worker and stone mad for machinery. He has been driving tractors since he was a young fellow. Once he got his licence he was up on a tractor and it wasn’t half big enough for him. He could turn his hand to anything and could drive any kind of a machine,” said Cllr Galvin.
In a statement Knocknagoshel GAA Club said all at the club were “deeply saddened and shocked to hear of the tragic accident that took the young life of Brendan Brosnan. We extend our deepest condolences to his parents Brendan and Catherine, siblings Christopher, Eoin, Ciara, Aoife, Sinéad, Katie, girlfriend Megan, Kathleen and all the Brosnan family of Knockbrack.
“Words cannot express our sympathy on the loss of Brendan. He was a young man full of life and laughter. Brendan played football with Knocknagoshel underage teams and was a regular at Knocknagoshel games when his father Brendan was playing. The Brosnan family are in our thoughts and prayers at this time,” they said.
A death notice on RIP.ie stated that Brendan “will be forever missed” by his heartbroken family.
He will be reposing at his home Meenoline, Templeglantine on Thursday, 30th April from 5.00 p.m. to 8.00p.m.The removal will take place on Saturday, 2nd May to The Church of The Most Holy Trinity Temple/Eglantine to arrive for the funeral Mass at 11am.
