In the lead-up to the Enniscorthy Rockin’ Food and Fruit Festival, a prestigious exhibition was launched in the town’s castle.
Upping the excitement for the annual food and music festival is the addition of an exhibition that will showcase AIB sponsored Press Photographer of the Year Award winners in Enniscorthy Castle from May 1 to May 9.
The AIB Press Photographer of the Year Awards were started in 1978 to showcase and reward excellence in photojournalism across Ireland.
Established by the Press Photographers Association of Ireland, their aim to bring the talented and memorable work of Ireland’s press photographers to a larger public through exhibitions and awards, as well as celebrating the skill, precision, and dedication of photographers who provide truthful images for trusted media brands.
AIB became involved as a title sponsor back in 2002.
Now in its 48th year, the AIB Press Photographer of the Year Award celebrates the very best of Irish press photography. The exhibition features all the winning and shortlisted images covering Irish life, at home and abroad, during 2025 and highlights the dedication and skill of Ireland’s top press photographers including the overall winner, Mark Condren of Mediahuis Ireland.

“The exhibition which features over 100 prints from all walks of life, from news and sport action to arts and entertainment, and will be free to view during the Rockin’ Food Festival with the images reflecting on the stories and experiences that shaped life in Ireland in 2025,” Jimmy Gahan, member of the organising committee explained.
The exhibition was opened by Housing Minister James Browne on Tuesday, April 28.
“They are really an archive and I would encourage people to come into the castle and admire them. The exhibition is part of the Enniscorthy Rockin’ Food and Fruit Festival weekend, and it gives me great pleasure to launch everything this evening,” he said.
The AIB Press Photographer of the Year exhibition runs in Enniscorthy Castle from May 1 to May 9.
