GAA confirm football-hurling double header for Limerick Tailteann Cup opener

THE GAA have confirmed the fixture details for Limerick’s Tailteann Cup round 1 clash with Wexford.

After reaching last year’s final, Limerick got a tough draw for their opener this season, travelling to Chadwick’s Wexford Park on Saturday, May 9.

The game will throw in at 6pm and be the second part of a double header with the Slaneysiders Leinster Senior Hurling Championship clash with Dublin commencing at 4pm.

“It’s a tough draw, a tough assignment to be fair about it,” said Limerick manager Jimmy Lee said to the Limerick Leader. “You have to venture down there.

“We know a lot about Wexford and they know a lot about us. We’ve met three times in the last 18 months so it’s a tough draw but, look, that’s the hand of cards that we have. It’s about knuckling down and getting on with it.”
