Man (20) charged over assault of Derry taxi driver

Police in Derry, investigating the report of an assault on a taxi driver in the Woodbrook area in the early hours of Saturday, May 2, have charged a man to appear at court.

The 20-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences including grievous bodily harm with intent, attempted hijacking, theft and criminal damage and is due to appear at Derry Magistrates’ Court on Monday. May 4.

As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
