Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift have been friends for more than a decade, but the “Perfect” singer had to hear about her engagement to Travis Kelce like the rest of her fans – on Instagram.

Sheeran, 34, confirmed that Swift, 35, did not personally reach out, or even send a DM, after getting engaged to the tight end, also 35, during a Wednesday, September 24, interview with Andy Cohen before his SiriusXM’s Small Stage Series concert in New York.

“Instagram,” Sheeran replied when Cohen, 57, asked him how he learned of the news.

“You didn’t even get a DM in advance?” the Bravo host responded, to which Sheeran answered, “No.”

In addition to being left in the dark on her engagement, the Grammy Award winner also revealed that he has yet to receive a Save the Date.

While it’s unclear when Swift and Kelce plan to tie the knot, traditionally, Save the Dates are sent out to wedding guests six months before the big day. With the Kansas City Chiefs star in the midst of his NFL season – which runs through February, if the team makes it to the Super Bowl – there is still a chance Sheeran could be invited to the wedding of the century.

Aside from the wedding, Sheeran — who has collaborated with Swift on multiple tracks, including “Everything Has Changed” — has yet to hear her upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl. Swift’s 12th studio album is set to release on Friday, October 3.
