A total of €47,632 allocated to support Men’s Sheds throughout Donegal.

The funding will benefit sheds in Ardara (€2,955.26), Ballybofey & Stranorlar (€478.23), Ballyshannon (€2,031.70), Carn (€2,958.08), Castlefin (€1,985.51), Cloughaneely (€2,688.15), Donegal Town (€2,093.12), Downstrands (Rosbeg & Portnoo) (€2,602.43), Drumholme (€1,067.80), Dunfanaghy (€1,072.71), Fintown (€1,784.50), Killybegs (€1,861.92), Killygordon (€2,600.00), Kilmacrennan (€2,384.73), Letterkenny (€1,722.62), Manorcunningham (€3,000.00), Meenaneary (€1,562.25), Mevagh (€2,462.65), Moville (€3,000.00), Raphoe (€1,320.35), the Rosses (€3,000.00) and Gaoth Dobhair (€3,000.00).

Pat the Cope Gallagher TD has welcomed the announcement by Minister Dara Calleary of the funding. He said: “This funding will help Men’s Sheds meet essential running costs such as heating, electricity and insurance, ensuring these vital community hubs can continue their important work in tackling isolation, promoting wellbeing and fostering social connection among men across Donegal.”

Men’s Sheds in Ireland are community-based spaces where men can come together to work on practical projects, learn new skills, and socialise in an informal, supportive environment. The movement is coordinated nationally by Irish Men’s Sheds Association.
