I am pleased to report that media literacy among the teenage population of Ireland is in rude health. I discovered this through in-depth field research at the tail end of one of my son’s house parties.
I was doing my usual trick of appearing amongst them at around 10.30pm, like a doughy demon summoned by the odour of spilled cider and sick, and was weaving my way through the crowds, trying to usher them off the property and onto a public road where they would either be collected by or run over by their parents.
