The future of the Ballindine Medical Centre has been confirmed, with the HSE saying the facility is not planned for closure and will remain open.

That’s according to Claremorris-Swinford Councillor Patsy O’Brien.

Councillor O’Brien, who is based in Hollymount, wrote to the HSE for clarification on the matter saying it was “in the public domain” that the centre was marked for closure.

The Ballindine Primary Care centre offers a number of services to locals including GP consultations. Councillor O’Brien says while this is good news, the question still lingers about existing healthcare infrastructure in Mayo, particularly for those who live in rural areas of the County.
