My week with Celia Holman Lee: Mayor John Moran's ball so impressed me! - Ireland News Beep

The mayor’s fundraising ball was an absolute hit. The night is one of the biggest on the calendar in Limerick – and for good reason. The atmosphere was simply electric.

I was completely swept away by the crowds of people. Everywhere I looked, there was someone I knew. I simply love meeting people.

Almost 500 people attended and the place was absolutely jam-packed. While I had so many great conversations that night, I’m sure there are people I may have missed. It was impossible to stop by to chat with everyone, as there was such a great turnout.

The evening coincided with Mayor John Moran’s 60th birthday. The audience sang him happy birthday with a huge fanfare – twice, no less! I must say, the mayor sure does know how to arrange a fantastic soireé. It was beyond belief how much fun the event was – and all for a good cause, too.

The food was top notch – which is no small feat for such a large audience.

A big credit must be given to Cathy Halloran, who acted as the MC for the night. It must be said that she was simply top class, and the night went so smoothly under her direction.

The mayor is one of the biggest champions of Limerick that I have ever met. I think it is just wonderful that someone who cares so much about the city and its people is in such a position.

It is wonderful to be around people who are as passionate about Limerick as I am. The whole night was a breath of fresh air.

For events such as these, they are often my go-to, and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to stun this summer. It’s hard to go wrong with Irish tailoring.
