Brendan O’Brien, the respected RTÉ journalist who died last week at the age of 82, has been described as “fearless” and “passionate” by those who worked alongside him professionally, and as “a total gent” and a “gentle soul” by Wicklow residents who knew him personally.
He enjoyed a long career in broadcasting, most notably with RTÉ, where he worked from 1974 to 2002 on flagship current affairs programmes including Today Tonight and Prime Time.
