The Eurovision Song Contest grand final is just around the corner, with the competition returning to BBC One tonight, May 16.
With Vienna hosting the contest, a total of 25 countries will take to the stage once more in a bid to be crowned the 2026 champion, including the UK.
One of the acts who made the shortlist was Jonas Lovv, a 31 year old singer-songwriter from Bergen, Norway, after he triumphed with Ya Ya Ya.
Many Eurovision fans have compared the artist to Harry Styles due to his bold fashion statements and captivating stage presence.
The singer has been very cryptic about the meaning of his song, explaining why he deliberately avoided clarifying it.

He said he preferred listeners to form their own interpretation of the song, telling The Independent: “I don’t like explaining what my song is about, because I don’t want to ruin the listener’s first impression.
“They might think it’s a song about heartbreak, something to dance to, or something else entirely. I want people to form their own first impression of the track.”
The singer, who lives near Bergen with his girlfriend and young son, said winning Eurovision would completely transform his family’s future.
He added, “Winning ESC would be incredible. It would secure my future as an artist and the well-being of my family, so it would honestly mean the world to me.”

The performer has enjoyed a thriving musical journey thus far and served as the lead singer in the synth-pop group Shuffle Baby, which put out numerous tracks until 2020.
In 2025, he participated in series 10 of The Voice – Norges beste stemme, progressing to the semi-final stage.
The official Eurovision YouTube channel posted footage of his rendition of Ya Ya Ya from the second semi-final programme and supporters rushed to the comments section to heap praise on the artist.
One commented: “This was probably the most polished and stage-ready performance of this year. I could totally see this on a festival stage.”
Another wrote: “Jonas is the real performer, he’s on fire!” A third posted: “Loved every second of the performance. You’ve blasted the stage!”
The Eurovision Song Contest grand final will broadcast on BBC One on May 16 from 8pm.
