More than 1,600 dresses sold in Ireland have been recalled over injury fears.

More than 1,600 clothes items sold in Ireland have been urgently recalled over safety fears, with shoppers warned to stop using them immediately.
The recall affects various girl’s dresses sold in TK Maxx and Homesense stores nationwide.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) confirmed the recall involves American Princess and Couture Princess Occasion Dresses.
According to the alert, there is a risk of injuries due to a wire in the hem which could tangle or cause trips.
A spokesperson said: “TJX Ireland Unlimited Company trading as TK Maxx and Homesense is carrying out a recall of American Princess & Couture Princess Occasion Dresses.
“The product presents a risk of injuries. The dress contains a plastic wire in the hem which may become exposed and protrude, creating a potential entanglement or trip hazard.”
Around 1,617 of the affected dresses were sold in Ireland between March and April 2026.
The recall affects the following style numbers: A07884, A77889, CP07741, CP07887, CP07908, CP17866, CP17880, CP17904, CP17908, CP27741, CP27866, CP27873, CP27880, CP27883, CP27906, CP47741, CP47829, CP47874, CP47906, CP77742, CP77874 and CP77906.
Customers who bought the dresses are being urged to stop using them immediately. The products can be returned to any TK Maxx or Homesense store for a full refund

The CCPC added: “Customers should stop using the product immediately and return it to any TK Maxx or Homesense store for a full refund.
“If customers have any further queries in relation to this recall, please email TK Maxx at customerservice@tjxeurope.com or call on 01 2476126.”
A spokesperson for TK Maxx advised customers: “Spread the news. Tell your friends and family about this recall.”
They added: “The dress contains a plastic wire in the hem to maintain its shape. Damage or wear to the stitching may cause the plastic wire to become exposed and protrude, creating a potential entanglement or trip hazard that could result in injury.
“Please stop using it immediately and return to any TK Maxx store. You can get a full refund or replacement.”
