Tara Reid has made a glitzy return to the spotlight. On May 21, the 50-year-old American Pie star stepped out at the amfAR Gala during the Cannes Film Festival. For the occasion, Reid was styled by Shanna Gall and wore a sheer white gown with long sleeves and a plunging neckline by the Vietnamese brand Lê Thanh Hòa.

Reid accessorized her look with a diamond necklace, a silver watch, several bracelets, and platform silver shoes. Her glam included a smoky eye and bright pink lips, and she styled her long blonde hair in a high ponytail.

That wasn’t her only Cannes appearance.
On Friday, May 22, she walked the red carpet for the premiere of Histoires De La Nuit (The Birthday Party). There, she wore a striking black gown with a huge white flower at her shoulder, which extended into a long cape that grazed the floor. She once again accessorized with a watch and bracelets and added a green gemstone-like necklace. The actress maintained her pink lip and smoky eye and wore her hair in a high bun.
Reid’s Cannes appearances come six months after her hospitalization last November. On November 24, People reported that, while in Chicago, she was taken from the DoubleTree hotel to a hospital.
At the time, reps for Reid said she believed her drink had been “tampered with.”
“Tara Reid has filed a police report after an incident in which she believes her drink was tampered with,” her rep said in a statement, per People. “She is cooperating fully with the investigation. Tara is recovering and asks for privacy during this traumatic time. She also urges everyone to be careful, watch your drinks and never leave them unattended, as this can happen to anyone. She will not be making further comments at this stage.”

Shortly after, in December, the Rosemont Public Safety Department told People that surveillance footage did not indicate that Reid was “drugged” at the hotel. The case has been closed as of December 11 after “no other evidence had come forward or been discovered.”
Reid later told People that she was trying to put the whole situation behind her.
“It was a very unfortunate thing that happened, but I’m just trying to get by and put it behind me because it’s just devastating in so many different ways,” she said. “I try not to talk about it that much and just live my life and live forward. “
