'Brazen': Gardai continue to probe broad daylight gun attack in Limerick - Ireland News Beep

GARDAI in Limerick continue to investigate a shooting incident on the southside of Limerick city.

The gun attack on a property was carried out in broad daylight on Friday morning. The brazen perpetrators discharged a firearm despite ongoing patrols by uniformed and armed gardai due to tensions in the area.

Gardai responded within minutes and cordoned off the area for forensic analysis.

It is being linked to an ongoing feud between two separate groupings, which has seen a number of arson and gun attacks in recent months in Limerick city.

Following a query from Limerick Live, a garda spokesperson confirmed that gardaí responded to reports of shots fired outside a residential property in Ballinacurra Weston.

“It was at approximately 10:30am on Friday, May 23. No injuries were reported. Investigations are ongoing,” said a garda spokesperson.

There are reports that a window of a house was shot in.

Motorists who were on the Hyde Road, Ballinacurra Weston at the time and may have dash-cam or mobile photo footage of the incident or of suspicious activity are asked to make this available to investigating gardaí.
