Salthill House in Mountcharles, one of County Donegal’s most important historic properties, is set to host a landscape painting workshop on Saturday 4th October.
In association with the Historic Houses of Ireland and the National Built Heritage Service, this day long workshop will be led by Sinéad Smyth, a professional member of Visual Artists Ireland.
Sinéad works and teaches creative arts and oil painting from her studio and garden, on the Inishowen Peninsula. Her previous oil painting work on seascape and landscape painting is abstract and the workshop will be en plein air- outdoors in the walled garden.
The workshop will begin with a demonstration of basic techniques like colour mixing, composition and using shapes for perspective and painters will be encouraged to reflect on the glorious surrounds of Salthill and its landscape.
Materials such as paints and canvasses will be provided but please bring your own easel.
Tea and coffee on arrival, light lunch provided.
Come take in the beautiful scenery of Salthill and paint your next masterpiece!
