Is AI a ‘game changer’ for business leaders or something to approach with caution? Concerns about the use of artificial intelligence in everyday operations were just some of the issues raised by Louth businesswomen who attended the seminar in Dundalk.
‘AI on Your Terms’ was an interactive led by marketing strategist and consultant Tamara Howard, who gave a no-jargon, practical introduction to how artificial intelligence can be used to boost productivity and marketing impact in everyday business.
Rather than presenting AI as a distant, expert-only technology, she reframed it as “a navigator’s toolkit—something any business owner can use with confidence.”
The event focused on a range of topics including; writing stronger, clearer prompts to get useful results; how to repurpose content across platforms to save time and; using AI tools to improve research, productivity, and marketing campaigns.
The importance of applying “simple guardrails around privacy, accuracy, and tone of voice” were also highlighted.
The workshop mixed live demonstrations with hands-on exercises, giving participants a chance to experiment with tools directly from their phones.
Tamara outlined shifts expected in the next 12–18 months, including more integrated AI in everyday apps, agentic AI systems that can execute tasks with light oversight, and the growing importance of data accuracy and governance.
Network Ireland Louth President, Nicola Connolly Byrne, said: “Our members are curious about AI but also cautious. This event gave them clarity, confidence, and a set of practical tools they can use immediately. It was about empowerment, not overwhelm.”
