Republic of Ireland are guaranteed at least third spot in their qualifying group and a seeded playoff spot after table toppers France beat Poland 2-0 in Gdansk.
Goals from Melvine Malard and Sandy Baltimore condemned the Poles to bottom place in the group, their only point coming in their opening draw at home to Netherlands.
Carla Ward’s side currently host the Dutch in Páirc Uí Chaoimh, needing a victory to usurp their opponents, who won the corresponding fixture 2-1 in Utrecht in March.
France, currently in top spot in the group, host Republic of Ireland in Grenoble on Tuesday, with the table toppers advancing directly to the World Cup in Brazil next year.
