Anthony Guidera, known for his role in “The Godfather III” and several 1990s action films, died Saturday at his California home, Page Six reports. He was 65.

Guidera was removed from life support at home after spending three weeks in the hospital, his wife Valarie told TMZ. He collapsed at his residence in May when his heart stopped. The official cause of death has not been determined by doctors.

The actor launched his career in 1990 playing a bodyguard named Anthony in the third Godfather film, Page Six noted. He appeared in “The Rock” and “Armageddon” during the decade and won an MTV Movie Award in 1996 for best kiss alongside Natasha Henstridge in “Species.” His final screen credit came in 1999 as a gun seller in “The Annihilation of Fish.”

Guidera’s wife said the family honored his previously stated wishes by bringing him home before he died. He is survived by Valarie and their son, Nick.

In addition to film, Guidera did volunteer work at a “spiritual foundation” in Palos Verdes Estates, California called Astara, according to PEOPLE. The organization announced his passing in an Instagram post on Friday.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Anthony,” Astara announced in a statement. “We are devastated and trying to breathe through the impossible, taking each moment as it comes. Please hold this eternal light in your hearts and our family in your prayers.”
