Ireland’s Orla Comerford was victorious in Wednesday night’s Diamond League meet in Oslo, on a mixed night for the Irish as Mark English and Andrew Coscoran had disappointing nights on the track.

The 28-year-old, who won two gold medals at the 2025 Para Athletics World Champiosnhips in New Dheli last year, sauntered through the 100m Women’s Para race at a time of 11.78 seconds, with fellow Irish athlete Lana Sutton just missing out on a podium finish, finishing fourth in a time of 12.88.

Mark English’s 800m race was not quite as positive however. The world number nine, who finished second in Rome last time out and won in China last month, pulled up and did not finish.

Andrew Coscoran was also in action in the men’s “Dream Mile” at the Norwegian venue. The Balbriggan native finished in eighth place, after a photo finish, in a time of 3:49.68 as Kenya’s Timothy Cheruiyot took the victory.

Earlier in the evening, in the pre-programme portion of the night, Eimear Maher earned herself a second place finish in the 1500m.

The Dubliner ran a seasons best time of 4:09.93, pushing Portugal’s Patricia Silva all the way in a field jammed with local athletes.
