Keith’s home will need to undergo significant changes to help ease the financial burden

The public has rallied around a member of An Garda Siochana who suffered life-changing injuries in a skiing accident.
Keith Fox, a dad-of-two from Dublin, suffered a serious spinal injury in January which affected his mobility. Keith has undergone rehabilitation to regain movement in his legs and is in the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dun Laoghaire.
Friends and colleagues have rallied around him to raise funds for the talented GAA player as he works towards returning home. Significant changes will need to be undertaken to make his home accessible and pals have launched a GoFundMe page to help ease the financial burden.
The organisers of the fundraiser shared a message on the GoFundMe page, which states: “As Keith works towards the goal of returning home, significant changes will need to be undertaken to make his home accessible. This will include adapting his living space for wheelchair use, installing essential supports, and ensuring he can move around independently. There will also be ongoing costs for specialist equipment, care and further rehabilitation, which are vital to assist in his recovery.”
There has been a huge outpouring of support for the fundraiser, which has raised €126,000 from more than 1,400 donations. Keith’s colleagues are to take on a charity cycle in an effort to raise funds.
Gardai stationed across the DMR Region are planning a 215km charity cycle going from the DMR Regional HQ, Dublin Castle to the Galway Garda Regional & Divisional HQ.
