There has been outpouring of support for the young dad-of-two as he continues his recovery after suffering the devastating injury in January

Kind-hearted members of the public have rallied around a member of An Garda Siochana who suffered life-changing injuries in a skiing accident earlier this year.
Keith Fox, a young dad-of-two from Dublin, was involved in an accident while skiing in January of this year where he suffered a serious spinal injury affecting his mobility.
Since suffering the devastating injury, Keith has undergone rehabilitation to regain movement in his legs and he is currently in the National Rehabilitation Hospital, Dun Laoghaire, working hard every day on his recovery.
As Keith, who is a talented GAA player, continues on his road to recovery, his friends and colleagues have rallied around him to raise funds as he works towards the goal of returning home.
Significant changes will need to be undertaken to make the home accessible to Keith on his return and his friends have launched a GoFundMe page to help ease the financial burden on the family so they can focus fully on his recovery.
Keith suffered the devastating injury in January
The organisers of the fundraiser shared a message on the GoFundMe page which states: “We are reaching out to ask for help for Keith Fox and his family during an incredibly difficult time.
“Keith was involved in a skiing accident in January and suffered a serious spinal cord injury, affecting his mobility.
“The road ahead will no doubt be long and challenging. Keith would like to thank everyone that has reached out to him with messages of support, it has meant so much to him and his family during this difficult time.
“Keith is a devoted husband to his wife Christine and a loving father to his two daughters. He is a son, an older brother and also a great friend, someone we can all look up to. Keith and his family are now facing this life changing situation together.
“As Keith works towards the goal of returning home, significant changes will need to be undertaken to make his home accessible. This will include adapting his living space for wheelchair use, installing essential supports, and ensuring he can move around independently. There will also be ongoing costs for specialist equipment, care and further rehabilitation, which are vital to assist in his recovery.”
The message continued: “We are setting up this GoFundME to help ease the financial burden on Keith and his family so they can focus fully on his recovery.
“Keith and Christine are incredibly proud and didn’t want to have to ask people for help with regards to adapting their house, however the grant from the council will only cover a small portion of the refurbishment cost.
“Any contribution no matter how small will have an immediate and hugely positive effect on Keiths daily life and that of his family.
“Keith and his family really appreciate all of the kindness and support that friends, family and all corners of the community have shown over the past few months.”

There has been a huge outpouring of support for the fundraiser, which has raised an incredible €126,000 from more than 1,400 donations. You can visit the GoFundMe page here.
Keith’s colleagues in An Garda Siochana are also set to take on a charity cycle in an effort to raise funds for the Dublin dad-of-two.
Gardaí stationed across the DMR Region are planning a 215km charity cycle going from the DMR Regional HQ, Dublin Castle to the Galway Garda Regional & Divisional HQ.
All the funds raised from the charity cycle will go directly towards Keith and his family to help them with home adaptations, rehabilitation and essential costs.
