Life changed in an instant for a Donegal mother-of-four who was rushed to hospital two weeks ago before receiving a devastating diagnosis of stage 4 breast cancer.
Louise Adair, who is from Dunkineely and lives in Portnoo, has been told that the cancer has spread to her brain, bones, lungs and liver.
Her family has now revealed that doctors have advised that Louise’s illness is not curable, but is treatable to prolong her life.
Louise, who works in the wellness industry selling essential oils, is a much-loved wife to Noel and mother to four children aged 10, nine, seven and three.

Her sister, Dianne Driscoll, said the family’s world has been turned upside down since Louise was admitted to hospital.
Now, tasks that most people take for granted are no longer possible for Louise.
“In an instant, things many of us take for granted are no longer possible for her,” Dainne said.
“She can’t bend down, lift things up, drive the car or walk up and down the stairs. She can’t even put on her own socks.”
Louise’s family and friends say the diagnosis has brought huge practical challenges, particularly as the family home is not currently suited to her needs.
A GoFundMe page has been set up by two of Louise’s closest friends, Lucy Rodgers and Jenny Cullen, to help the family with financial costs Louise undergoes treatment.

More than €101,000 has already been raised for Louise since the fund was launched this week.
Money raised will help cover medical and treatment-related expenses, supportive therapies and care, household bills and daily living costs, as well as modifications to the family home.
“Louise will need a house that is accessible and user friendly to her immediate needs so that she can continue to be the amazing mammy and wife that she is,” said her friends.

The kindness shown to Louise and her family has already made a huge difference, they said.
“The Adair family are as proud as they are generous and it is not always easy to admit the need for assistance and support or accept it when it is given but sometimes life throws curve balls in our path,” wrote Lucy and Jen.
“This is one of those times and it is your generosity that can transform their lives.
“Louise has always been the person who shows up for others—with kindness, generosity, and a positive spirit even during difficult times. Now she is facing the biggest challenge of her life.”
Louise has requested that no energy healing be sent to her at this time, but Dianne said prayers and candles are welcome.
“Please do not hesitate to light a candle or say a prayer for her and her beautiful family as her faith in a miracle is still strong and prayers are very welcome,” her friends said.
“Please hold your loved ones tight. None of us knows what tomorrow will bring,” said Diane.
