The Rolling Stones have announced their new single Jealous Lover, taken from their upcoming album Foreign Tongues.

The track, which features Steve Winwood, will be released on 26 June.

According to the band, Jealous Lover will “deliver a pointed warning to an over-inquisitive lover” and combines a soulful R&B groove with a falsetto lead vocal from Mick Jagger.

The song also features guitar work from Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood, with Darryl Jones on bass and Steve Jordan on drums.

Jealous Lover will appear on Foreign Tongues, the band’s 25th studio album, which is due for release next month.

The album also features guest appearances from Paul McCartney, The Cure’s Robert Smith and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.

Speaking about the recording sessions, Jagger said: “It was a very intense few weeks recording Foreign Tongues. We had 14 great tracks and we went as fast as we could.

“I like the room there as it’s not too big, so you can feel the passion in the room from everyone.”

Richards said the album had “a continuity from Hackney Diamonds”, adding: “It was great to be working in London again, and to have that London vibe around us.”

Ronnie Wood said the band was “on top form” during the recording process, adding: “Very often we nailed it on the first take. I hope everyone loves it.”
