Jamie McIntyre will play at Slane Castle in July
Galway singer-songwriter Jamie McIntyre is set to join the lineup for American country singer Luke Combs’ two headline shows at Slane Castle.
The two gigs will take place on July 18 and 19.
Jamie headlined two shows at the Galway Folk Festival and later this summer he will join artists such as Cian Ducrot on six of his Irish tour dates as well as Tom Grennan and Gavin James as main support on Irish shows.
This weekend he will take to the BBC Introducing Stage at TRNSMT in Glasgow before next week’s State Fayre (Kings of Leon, Kingfishr) and closing the summer at Electric Picnic.
He is gaining huge popularity among his ever growing fanbase having already sold out a run of 10 regional Irish shows this year.
He has also supported The 502s across the UK & Ireland, showcased at The Great Escape and sold-out headline shows at King Tuts in Glasgow and The Camden in London.
Chosen by Gavin James to support him in Paris on his European tour in 2024 as part of the Three City Stages initiative, the 24 year old has gone from strength to strength and continues to be one of the biggest breaking independent Irish artists this year with his music reaching audiences far and wide.
Six of his tracks from the past 18 months have surpassed the 1 million streams mark on Spotify alone. The viral hit that launched his career, “Over Galway Town,” now has over 8.2 million streams.
In other Galway news, O’Connells pub in Galway is set to host an evening with a legendary figure from Ireland’s Italia 90 team.
Legendary goalkeeprs Packie Bonner is bringing Italia 90 on the road with Bulmers.
On June 25 he will make his Galway stop alongside social superstars Tadhg and Derry Fleming to meet supporters and share memories from that unforgettable summer.
The tour comes after Italia 90 was voted the moment that Ireland was at its best.
Thirty-five years on, people still remember that tournament with great memories.
Packie of course played a huge role in that iconic win over Romania when he saved a penalty from Daniel Timofte, before David O’Leary slotted home the winning spot-kick.
To celebrate that enduring legacy, Bulmers is bringing Italia ’90 back to life this summer with a nationwide roadshow visiting Dublin, Cork, Galway and Clonmel, recreating the sights, sounds and atmosphere of that unforgettable summer.
