The funeral of six-year-old Cian Rowland, who lost his life in a road traffic collision in North Mayo on Sunday, will take place this afternoon.
Cian was fatally injured after being struck by a car on the N59 at Eskeragh, near Crossmolina, at around twenty past eleven on Sunday morning. He was a pedestrian at the time of the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardaí continue to appeal for information in relation to the incident. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who has relevant information, is asked to contact Ballina Garda Station, the Garda Confidential Line, or any Garda station.
Mass of the Angels for Cian will be celebrated at one o’clock this afternoon in St Tiernan’s Church, Crossmolina, followed by burial.
